There Must Be a Joke in Here Somewhere

by Smitty

I got the Jesus could build a cabinet joke. Carpenter builds cabinets, POTUS having a spot of trouble. Here comes this tidbit about OJ Simpson being short a few quid.

Barrett Prody, the brother of Simpson’s former girlfriend, has created a nonprofit corporation and an Internet Web site, the Society Against Legal Injustice Inc., to raise money for Simpson.

I’m thinking about campaign web sites, cabinetry, gloves, but it’s all a blank. Somebody help me connect the dots.

Self-quotafication

OK, suppose you’re a Vanilla-American, trying to figure out how to game the affirmative-action quota formula by which Democrats choose Cabinet officers. Take inspiration from this Labor Secretary wannabe:

For the rainbow cabinet of the nation’s first African American president, Mary Beth Maxwell is the perfect labor secretary you’ve probably never heard of: a gay woman, community organizer and labor leader with an adopted African American son.

Don’t despair, homogenous honkies: You’re only one same-sex relationship and one transracial adoption away from having Cabinet-worthy “diversity” credentials. Further commentary at Newsbusters and Ace of Spades HQ.

Ethnic patronage

Michelle Malkin notes the pressure to get more Latino appointments in the Obama Cabinet. For some reason, the appointment of Bill Richardson to Commerce reminds me of the late Ron Brown, who was memorably mourned by Bill Clinton.

Watch out for those Balkan trade missions, Bill.
